R949

About five years ago I discovered an amazing little gadget called Rock-it! which using vibrations, could turn any hard surface into a speaker. Fast forward to 2017 and those good vibrations are even better as iHeadBones has just unveiled the R949 Cyclist Headset which actually uses your own cheekbone to transmit sound directly to your inner ear. Read more…at Canoe Tech Blog.

Review: UnGrip won’t let you drop your phone

iphone_hand

Johann Pascual had an epiphany noticing that while cellphones were getting bigger and bigger most people’s hands were not and that caused some difficulty for some people. So he invented Ungrip, a little gadget that adheres to the back of any sized smartphone allowing you to easily grip your prized device with comfort and care.

Now before you start quoting Capt. Obvious, the reality is that a larger phone means a higher chance of dropping it, a common occurrence particularly when taking Selfies. And haven’t you noticed how many of those phones aren’t even in a protective case Read more…at Canoe Tech Blog.

New hoverboards offer No-Fall Technology

GT_Hover_GT8_Hoverboard_Camo_with_Jet_Black_Wheels_Front_1024x1024

I can honestly say I’ve never fallen off a hoverboard, but then again, I only took one for a test drive once and someone was holding me for part of the way and when I finally decided to go solo I barely put the pedal to the metal. Now should I have truly revved it up, for lack of a better term, my feet and the hoverboard would surely have parted ways.  Read more…at Canoe Tech Blog.

LectroFan micro wireless speaker helps you sleep better

LectroOpen

It may sound unusual to hear that a gadget that’s a wireless speaker and had the word fan in the name would help you sleep better, but the Lectrofan Micro Wireless Bluetooth Speaker by Adaptive Sound Technologies will do just that.

I’m sure you’ve guessed by now that it’s a multi-functional device but alas, it’s not actually a fan, either. Confused yet? Read on.

In a nutshell, it’s a pocket sized combination white noise and fan sound machine and a wireless Bluetooth speaker. It’s designed primarily to be used in a bedroom or hotel room as a sleep-aid to help people get some good shut-eye, which I’m sure is a challenge for many of us, particularly when you have noisy neighbours, late-night barking dogs or maybe even someone close-by who snores. Read more…at Canoe Tech Blog.

Silicone_Ring_Fishing_Active_Ring_600x

If you’re a huge sports enthusiast particularly those that involve water like boating, fishing or swimming, but often worry about losing or damaging your rings or wedding bands and can’t leave home without one on your finger, then the Groove Life Groove Ring might give you and your significant other one less thing to worry about.

It’s not high-tech in the sense that it’s electronic or Wi-Fi enabled but it is made of high quality low-profile medical grade flexible silicon. And their designers seem to have really thought this one though. It features recessed grooves, which allows for proper airflow between your fingers while keeping the water out but still hugging nicely to your finger without stopping your blood’s circulation. Read more…at Canoe Tech Blog.

Gifts for Dad great for the outdoors

When it comes to finding Dad the right gadget for Father’s Day, there are so many choices; so here are three gift ideas for a Dad who likes to spend time outside, whether on the field, on the road or otherwise.

Ultimate Mini DashCam

You know Dad loves car gadgets but you also know he wouldn’t want to be gifted with some big clunky camera that would clutter up his dashboard. If that sounds like your Dad, then he might be surprised at what big features can be found in the compact Magellan MiVue 420 DashCam.

At only 3.5”x1.9”x1.5” the MiVue 420 is packed full of features. The camera is equipped with a wide-angle lens camera (140° horizontal field of view) that captures Super HD (1296p) video both during the day and at night. It will also timestamp on the video GPS coordinates, date, time and speed, etc. These are also locked-in should Dad need proof of an event or if the unit senses the car’s been hit or moved erratically.

Starting off with saying. “It was 20 years ago today,” immediately conjures up an image in one’s mind of The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. But this time, “Image” is the operative word, as exactly two decades ago today, the first camera-phone photo was taken and shared – a feat we certainly take for granted today. Read more…at Canoe Tech Blog.
