Apple iOS 5 jam-packed with 200+ new features

Since it was preannounced, no one was surprised at WWDC 2011 when Scott Forstall, Apple SVP iOS Software, took us through a preview of Apple iOS 5, slated for release this fall. However, what we didn’t expect was the extensive list of over 200 new features that could potentially make your iOS device the only one you’ll actually need and maybe even encourage you to get a second one.

Apple WOWS WWDC 2011 Audience with Mac OS X Lion

As Steve Jobs took the stage to kick off the opening keynote for the 2011 Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco, California, the capacity audience welcomed Apple’s CEO with a great roar of appreciation.  And while some thought we might see a new or updated piece of hardware come about, Jobs, Phil Schiller, SVP Worldwide Product Marketing, Craig Federighi, VP OS X Software and Scott Forstall, SVP iOS Software, kept the audience extremely engaged talking strictly about software.

Apple’s WWDC 2011 Rock-Star event sold out

Each year, 5000+ Apple developers make the pilgrimage to the five-day Apple Worldwide Developers Conference at the Moscone West in San Francisco. It’s a true geek-week, filled with over 100 technical sessions many digging deep down right to the code level.  But you’d think that this event was a rock concert with the $1,599 US tickets for the June 6-10 event, open only to registered  Apple developers,  selling out in less than a day.
