IK Multimedia has finally unveiled their sequel to the affordable pocket-sized iRig HD digital guitar interface and not surprising, it’s called the iRig HD 2. This low-noise, high-definition guitar preamp offers the same functionality as its predecessor plus a whole lot more, adding some much needed features to the original and new additions to keep up with advancing technologies.
The new iRig HD 2 has a solid build quality and is just slightly larger (by 9 mm) and a touch heavier by (15 g), so it is still nice and compact and pretty much still fits in the palm of your hand. It draws power from the host and is designed for use with iOS devices including the new iPhone 7 as well as Macs and PCs. It features a 24-bit analog-to-digital converter plus a 96 kHz sampling rate for an ultra high-definition, high-quality signal.

Bluetooth audio adapters have been around for a while. At first they were marketed as giving you the ability to use your favourite wired headphones wirelessly, i.e. not having them tethered to your smartphone. Now with the likes of Apple’s iPhone 7 and the the Motorola Moto Z shipping sans headphone jacks, an adapter like the new iTrip Clip Bluetooth Audio Adapter by Griffin Technology is a wireless alternative to using USB to 3.5 mm adapters.

With the number of rechargeable battery banks available one would think that a pocket disposable battery pack like ResQBattery may not make any sense. However, the fact is even spare batteries lose capacity over time and often we forget to charge them, so having a spare in case of emergency or in the event there’s no where handy to recharge, may not be such a bad idea.

If you want to catch the official unveiling for the much anticipated LG Electronics V20 SmartPhone, you can pick up a live stream of the event at the top of the LG USA Mobile’s Facebook page later this evening. The official stream originating from San Francisco will go live at 8:50PM EST, 5:50PM PST, just ahead of the iPhone 7 announcement expected tomorrow morning. While there has been some official information on the V20 pre-released, a few further “leaks” seem to have surfaced.
Like the iPhone 7, rumours have been plentiful, with not a significant number of details being officially revealed. We know that the LG V20 will run Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box and and that it will be the first phone to showcase Google’s new In-App Search, which will allow you to virtually find anything in one place from all your user-installed apps as well as from within your contacts, emails, text messages and photos. Triple driver three-button models are not the most common when it comes to earphones and really non-existent for Android users – until now. Degauss Labs, a manufacturer based in Stockholm Sweden has just introduced HOWL, a pair of handmade hybrid in-ear monitors to fill that void.
HOWL incorporates three individual drivers into each earbud allowing for the proper separation of low, midrange and high frequencies.

In the days where it’s getting harder and harder to add significant innovations to smart phones, LG has taken a bold step to appeal to the discerning audiophile. They’ve announced their upcoming flagship smartphone, the LG V20 will feature a built-in 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC (digital to analog converter) — a smartphone industry first.
Inclusion of a high-quality DAC is not new to LG. The V20′s predecessor, the LG V10 already includes 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC by ESS Technology, but the new DAC, will feature four channels. The company claims the new addition will allow the new phone to deliver ultra-crisp and clear sound that comes close to replicating a live performance. Having a spare power bank is always a good thing, but as logic dictates there’s always a trade-off between battery power and battery size; if you want more power you have to increase the size. So Australia-based Cygnett has created the ChargeUp Digital Portable Power Bank, a small slim-lined power bank rated at 10,000 mAh and has an LED digital power display to boot.
The ChargeUp case has a durable polymer shell, a very small footprint, not much bigger than a credit card. It measures 142 mm long x 71 mm wide; 14 mm thin and weighs only 250 g.
It looks pretty sleek, too
