Review: PureGear Bluetooth enabled selfie stick

1 PureGearSelfieStickThe invention of the monopod opened the doors to almost endless selfie possibilities as people no longer had to rely solely on the length of their arm for getting the right shot. And while timers certainly made the task a little easier there was certainly room for improvement. So in their infinite wisdom, accessory maker Pure Gear decided to create a selfie stick that was Bluetooth enabled with an in-line shutter button so you’d no longer have to reach for your device to snap the picture.

The Pure Gear Selfie Stick is small and compact, yet with it’s sleek aerial style telescopic arm can extend the length of your arm from about eight inches to just under three feet. It has a non-slip rubber coated handle and detachable lanyard to ensure it stays in hand.

Its head is made of sturdy thermoplastic and fitted with a spring-loaded style clamp as seen on some other sticks, but with certain enhancements. The upper portion of the clamp is fully rubberized. This allows for better gripping of the edge of your smartphone. The lower portion has a slightly thicker rubber, more like a rounded edged wedge, so when your smartphone is inserted the front of the rubber sits higher, making it more difficult for you smartphone to slip out.   Read Full Review at G4 Canada.

ClipMic

Sennhesier and Apogee have teamed together to launch ClipMic digital and MKE 2 digital, a pair of clip-on microphones designed for iOS – iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that offer digital recording and enhanced sound quality over similar traditional analog mics.

“We are proud to launch the first digital clip-on microphones designed to connect directly to your iPhone,” says Betty Bennett, Co-Founder and CEO of Apogee Electronics. .

More than just a direct connect with their 1.6m cable through the devices Lightning connector, capturing the enhanced audio will add a new dimension to your videos, according to Wolfgang Fraissinet, Director Audio Recording at Sennheiser. “Speech intelligibility will increase tremendously – and will retain this quality when the speaker is moving. The fact that we feed the mobile device with a professionally converted digital signal results in the best possible sound quality,” says Fraissinet. Read more…at Canoe Tech Blog.

Review: XSories Big U-Shot designer selfie-stick

1 Big U-Shot Deluxe SilverIt’s hard to go anywhere without seeing someone taking a selfie and were seeing more and more people using monopods to help them do the dirty deed. So if you’re going to join the crowd and carry one around, it might as well be one that has a long range but also somewhat fashionable just like the XSories Big U-shot Deluxe Leather Telescopic Pole.

Now I have seen many selfie-sticks, but never one that has both a genuine leather leash and a tailor-made matching hand-stitched leather handle, which I have to admit, has a fairly appealing stylish urban look.

The leather handle cover is quite soft, very comfortable to grip and is actually just the right size. The telescopic frame is made of aluminum with a hard anodized finish, which is 29cm long when closed and extends out in four sections to a maximum of 93cm.  You extend it by pulling out and turning to the right and to lock it in place simply turn it to the left. When you’re done, simply reverse the process.  READ FULL ARTICLE at G4TV.ca

Review: Seidio Tetra bumper for iPhone 6

1 Tetra Pic GoldI’m simply amazed how many people carry around a thousand dollar smartphone like the Apple iPhone 6 Plus in their back pocket without any sort of protection. For some, it might be a case of just never getting around to it; others might prefer to show off their fine gadget’s natural beauty and some may simply hate any extra bulkiness an add-on accessory might bring.

But frankly, everyone needs some sort of protection. If that’s the case – pardon the pun, then the Seidio TETRA might just be the solution – a two-part system comprised of an inner gasket and an outer metal frame. It’s not an actual case, but rather a bumper that fits around the perimeter of your smartphone offering protection, for the most part, from many of those angled drops.   READ FULL review at G4TV Canada
