Lost one too many Apple TV remotes?

SlickWraps Apple Remote Orange

Apple TV Remote with Slickwraps skin, in the dark

Where’s the remote? This is a cry often heard in my household. It’s usually followed by, “which one,” a ritual that occurs on a regular basis, most often on a Friday or Saturday night. After fiddling and fumbling, looking under the couch between the cushions or maybe under the newspaper, the missing remote is usually found along with another you weren’t looking for, yet. However sometimes, like in the case of the pocket-size Apple remote, it may be destined to never be found.

Coming Soon: Zepp Multi-Sport Training System

ZEPPWe all want to be able to be better at playing sports like golf, tennis and baseball, so Zepp is unveiling a new sensor-based sports platform to radically improve the way we practice, play and experience sports. It uses a tiny 1″- square 3D motion sensor encased in a molded rugged rubber shell that you can attach to your golf club, tennis racket or baseball bat – there are 3 models depending on the sport you’re playing.

Each sensor contains a powerful ARM processor, multiple motion sensors, storage for up to 200,000 swings (200,000 tennis swings / 2,000 baseball and golf swings) and up to 8 hours of battery life (varies by use). It captures 1,000 data points per second  So combining that with a dedicated app which transfers all of this data to a user’s iOS or Android device (smartphone or tablet) via Bluetooth for you to review, you’ll be able to analyze, learn from it and improve your swing.

Zepp Baseball, Zepp Golf and Zepp Tennis will be available for purchase at zepp.com and select retail outlets in November for a suggested retail price of $149.99 (U.S.).

Go-Taxi app allows you to quickly, safely and easily catch a cab

The Go Taxi app was developed by Edmonton, AB-based Tim TuxworthThe Edmonton, Alberta Go-Taxi app is currently available inHong Kong, Jersey Shore, Chicago, Tampa Bay, Florida and North Carolina

EDMONTON, AB, Sep 30, 2013/ Troy Media/ – When two Boston women, in two separate incidents, each hailed what they thought was a cab, the last thing they expected to happen was to be assaulted by the drivers. While reports so far indicate police are saying these incidents of “fake” cabs are unrelated, it begs the question: how safe is it to hail a cab?

The best way to ensure safety is to use a licensed cab company. While regulations vary by municipality, the cab, or taxi industry is generally highly regulated, and drivers are vetted, including criminal record checks, licensed, bonded and required to adhere to codes of conduct.

Even so, you need to ensure the actual cab is legit. In Boston for example, all licensed cabs, historically called Hackney Carriages, are approved by the Police Commissioner and have its identification medallion on the rear trunk. There are also other identifying decals specifically placed on the rear passenger door window and on the Plexiglas partition between driver and customer. The driver will also have his Hackney license displayed.  READ MORE AT TROY MEDIA
