A suspicious email arrives in my inbox with the subject line, “Ok Google, how many days until Oct 4?” An animated GIF pops up on the screen with the showing the same question, then a reply, “20 days.” At first I thought it was suspicious especially since it was fairly non-descript email. It had short links and a PNG attachment and no signature line. After further investigation, I determined it was legit and realized it was a teaser for some new stuff coming from Google.
Pardon my suspiciousness – my scam and phasing radar is always on high.
The event is a rollout happening on Wednesday, October 4th, 2017 at 9 A.M. PT, Noon ET, where live in San Francisco where we’re only told to come and “Come check out a few things new thing made by Google.” If memory serves me correctly, It was October 4th, 2016 that Google unveiled the first Pixel phone, so logic dictates that in addition to some new toys, we’re in for perhaps new and improved phones likely called, Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL hinted by this Google teaser video, as well as the one below called, “Funny You Should Ask…,” that asks many questions including, “Why is my smartphone so dumb?” and “Why doesn’t my phone understand me?”
