Air Deck 2.0 – The ultimate travel playing cards

You don’t always need to be attached to electronic devices, especially when you are travelling; Sometimes you just need to sit back chill and play a little cards. But after a while, they get worn, torn and depending on where you are can sometimes be bulky especially when playing in tight places like an airplane.

Two or so years ago  a Hong Kong company came up with an idea. Why not come up with a premium, waterproof, compact, lightweight, and durable deck of cards you can virtually slip in your pocket and take anywhere? And thus, the Air Deck was born. Fast forward 18 months later today and the casino quality travel companion is now new and improved with three new designs.  The company has put out a Kickstarter campaign to make Air Deck 2.0 happen. Their goal was HK$40K (about $6.7K CAD) and they’ve already raised over HK$1M, over $180K Cad so they’re well on their way.

                Air Deck 2.0 New Designs

If you familiar with Air Deck, Air Deck 2.0 is made with the same high-quality materials as the original, but we’ve made a couple of upgrades (apart from the new look):

  • New decks are designed so they’re even more resilient to wear and tear.
  • The boxes (including our current 1st generation Air Decks) are upgraded to .4mm waterproof synthetic paper, which makes them more durable than the previous .3mm.
  • The ink on the box is now more resistant to scratching.
  • The company will be planting mangrove trees to offset any CO2 emitted from production and shipping of the cards.

You can support the campaign with various options, but can pick up a deck for HK$ 79, about US$ or $13.50 CAD) directly from Kickstarter.
