Apple refreshes iMac family with new Retina displays

In a low-key release, Apple has refreshed the iMac family bringing a new Retina 4K display to its smaller 21.5-inch iMac and making the Retina 5K display standard on all 27-inch iMac models. As an added bonus, they’ve also introduced the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2 and the Magic Trackpad 2 to replace the current line of Apple wireless accessories. Read more…at Canoe Tech Blog

Apple rolls out new budget 21.5-inch iMac

Much to everyone’s surprise, there were no new hardware announcements at WWDC 2014 earlier this month, despite the rumour mill being flooded with them. Now today, two weeks later, although this one was probably already in the works, Apple unveils a new entry-level budget 21.5 inch iMac.

Turn the clock back 15 years, August 15th, 1998 and the world’s 1st true Internet appliance, the iMac, was being delivered to its first customer.  Announced three months earlier on May 6th, the iMac was the first of many revolutionary products to follow under Steve Jobs’ reign, since his return to Apple in late 1997.

Canoe Tech: A look at Apple’s new offerings, iPad mini and more
