After being one of the last holdouts, the Province of Alberta’s Distracted Driving Legislation, Bill 16 goes into effect September 1st, 2011. And like many other provincial jurisdictions have done, the law limits what you can do behind the wheel. Being The Gadget Guy, I’m usually one of those types of people who really enjoy the latest and greatest bells and whistles that any gadget has to offer. Recently however, I had an opportunity to test drive the Aluratek Libre PRO e-Book Reader. Now it doesn’t fit in the ultimate category, ie; it doesn’t have all the toys that one might expect like Wi-Fi, a colour display or a touchscreen, yet it does have a photo viewer and a built-in mp3 player you can listen to through the headphone jack while you’re reading. Quite frankly, I found myself pleasantly surprised with the experience.
