Review: IK Mulitmedia iRig HD 2 digital guitar interface

1-2_irighd2_34_vertIK Multimedia has finally unveiled their sequel to the affordable pocket-sized iRig HD digital guitar interface and not surprising, it’s called the iRig HD 2. This low-noise, high-definition guitar preamp offers the same functionality as its predecessor plus a whole lot more, adding some much needed features to the original and new additions to keep up with advancing technologies.

The new iRig HD 2 has a solid build quality and is just slightly larger (by 9 mm) and a touch heavier by (15 g), so it is still nice and compact and pretty much still fits in the palm of your hand. It draws power from the host and is designed for use with iOS devices including the new iPhone 7 as well as Macs and PCs. It features a 24-bit analog-to-digital converter plus a 96 kHz sampling rate for an ultra high-definition, high-quality signal.

It has an onboard gain control dial so you can control the pre-amp signal input from the 1/4″ Hi-Z jack when playing or recording to make sure you’re at the right level. There’s also a multicoloured LED to monitor that level. Read Full Review at CanoeTech Blog.
