What appears to be an offer for free gift cards and vouchers from Tim Hortons and Starbucks is no more than a ploy to lead you down the garden path to get you to ultimately reveal personal information.
The magic of the iPhone continues, as people like Misha Hlebnicov, 17, are still willing to line up over night to be one of the first to get their hand on the new iPhone 4S. Despite the critics who were disappointed that the new model was not an iPhone 5, pre-orders of over 1 million units in the first 24 hours seemed to tell the tale and the long queue at the Apple Store at Southgate Mall in Edmonton are proof positive that the iPhone 4S is yet another winner.

When Apple announced their special fall event, there was little additional information given. Now that’s typical of
Apple where the cat is never let out of the bag ahead of time. The shroud of secrecy certainly makes for ongoing wild speculation and the plethora of predictions continue to keep the rumour mills churning feverishly. I still think it’s pretty clever how they manage to do that every time and create a buzz- but I digress.

Being The Gadget Guy, I’m usually one of those types of people who really enjoy the latest and greatest bells and whistles that any gadget has to offer. Recently however, I had an opportunity to test drive the Aluratek Libre PRO e-Book Reader. Now it doesn’t fit in the ultimate category, ie; it doesn’t have all the toys that one might expect like Wi-Fi, a colour display or a touchscreen, yet it does have a photo viewer and a built-in mp3 player you can listen to through the headphone jack while you’re reading. Quite frankly, I found myself pleasantly surprised with the experience.
