IK Multimedia has announced the release of Lurssen Mastering Console, the first iPhone mastering app that lets musicians master their mixes with a model of the console and settings used by the engineers at Lurssen Mastering, Inc., in Los Angeles, California. Lurssen Mastering Console is a totally unique approach to audio mastering that incorporates the Lurssen “whole is greater than the sum of its parts” philosophy by recreating not only the gear chain used but the interactions and influence the processors have on other gear in the chain during the mastering process. Lurssen Mastering Console is available as a universal iPhone/iPad app and it is also available separately for Mac/PC.

Created by IK Multimedia and made in Italy, iRig BlueTurn is a simple yet clever little BlueTooth enabled box. It’s designed to sit on the floor with two soft touch illuminated buttons positioned side-by-side to execute commands from one of three preset modes: Arrow up/down, Page up/down or Arrow left/right that you can configure upon power-up. In some apps, receiving these commands may allow control of other functions such as scrolling and start/stop functionality in certain modes depending on how the app interprets the standardized commands. KULR plays music charges your phone and keeps your beer cold

Cooler, when used in the context of a place to keep your beer cold when on the beach doesn’t really stir up any excitement in one’s mind. But Kulr, which sounds the same is still a cooler but it’s high-tech and in a whole different category.
First off, the cooler part. It looks like a standard cooler, but a little more sleek and stylish. It has a scratch resistant shell and an elevated slip base to keep it slightly raised off the ground. A portable MIDI interface is pretty handy to have particularly when you’re on the road, so if you’re doing an impromptu performance or a live recording session and have both a guitar and a mic, you might be out of luck, unless you either have two interfaces or the iRig Pro DUO – the latest portable MIDI interface from IK Multimedia that features two channels.
This new dual-channel gadget is a follow-up to the original single channel iRig Pro, we looked at here at CanoeTech Blog back in mid-2013. Not only does it double your channels, it’s been enhanced with additional features not found on its predecessor.
