Last year we had a look at the SpiderLight Holster for your camera – a two-piece plate and holster system that allows you to carry your camera at arms length and get quick access to it without the need for a strap. However, we often want to use our cameras on a tripod, so Spider Holster has come up with three new Tripod adapter plates that allows you to secure you camera to your tripod but to also move from your holster to your tripod and back quickly and securely.

The three new models are the SpiderPro Tether Plate is an adopter plate that protects your tether cable and camera port by locking the cable to your camera. It helps eliminate the risk of your cable pulling out and damaging your camera. [Read more…]

Reviewing it, it’s a two-piece plate and holster system that allows you to carry your camera at arms length and get quick access to it without the need for a strap.

SpiderLight Camera Holster is designed for smaller, lighter and mirrorless DSLR cameras. It’s configured in two pieces – a plate and a holster. The plate attaches to the bottom of your camera with a bail screw you simply insert into the camera’s tripod mount. The plate has a ball-headed steel pin that then slips into the holster guide which attaches snuggly to your belt using it’s built-in heavy duty belt clip. World’s first HDR time-lapse camera

f7e7ed2e9dee77ef347dff0795183261You can do time-lapse recording on many devices these days, but if you could have just one device that can sit out in the middle of nowhere that can instantly produce time-lapse HD video in varying light conditions, then the new BRINNO TLC200 PRO TIME LAPSE CAMERA might be something to look at.

Brinno claims it’s the world’s first time-lapse HDR camera. It’s a pocket sized standalone unit 64x 52x 107 mm with a built-in 1.44″ TFT LCD monitor and viewfinder. It has a wide-angle (112° field of view) and comes with an f/2.0 19mm lens (equivalent to 35mm). The lens can also be rotated up to 120° and the focus can be set manually. Swann unveils DIY 4K ultra HD security system

NVR-7700NI-I4_4camWell, there’s been lots of buzz about bigger and better 4K televisions, but Swann, a company known for their security monitoring systems has just unveiled their forthcoming Swann 4K Ultra HD Security System that offers a crisper picture and better resolution with four times more pixels than 1080p.

The new system is primarily designed for the small business owner or the do-it-yourselfer. It includes four 4K, 8-megapixel HD cameras (expandable to eight) that use IR cut filters which allow for better detail particularly at night and up to 100 feet.
