Justin Bieber again McAfee’s most dangerous Canadian celebrity

If you’re not familiar with some of today’s antivirus products, you might think by reading the headline, that Justin Bieber got himself into trouble again. However here, this is not the case. The headline refers to online searches for the chart-topping “Beebs” being again the #1 bait on the Canadian chart, to lure unsuspecting fans into the hands of hackers. This is according to the 2016 McAfee Most Dangerous Celebrities Study.

The study, now in its 10th year, is named for McAfee, a company that produces products that helps protect your computers and smart phones from nasties like spyware, viruses and malware. Whoosh! wipes out your smartphone’s bacteria

Whoosh

It comes in the form of a kit that consists of a clear spray solution and an anti-microbial 6″ x 6″ orange microfibre cloth. There’s no alcohol or ammonia in the solution, which can be harmful to the coatings on some screens, particularly those like the oleophobic coating found on the iPhone.

Screens like the iPhone are designed for capacitive touch. This means that it relies on the ever-minute electrical particles found in the human finger that makes touchscreens possible.  That’s why touchscreens don’t really work if you’re wearing regular gloves.

BrewLock keeps draft beer as fresh as Day 1

7c80665f17d37362172959b7ff689726I certainly enjoy having a pint of draft now and again especially when it’s hot and sunny outside. But I’m sure you’ll agree that depending where and when and what kind of beer is on tap the brew experience can sometimes be hit and miss. And that’s not a good thing, so Heineken is introducing a beer they claim is as fresh as the day it left the brewery in Amsterdam. No, it’s not a new beer, but rather a new revolutionary draft dispensing technology called BrewLock that’s allowing them to make those claims.

“Canadians can experience Heineken just like in Amsterdam, without having to go to Amsterdam,” said Laurens Raven, Global Draught Master at Heineken. “This is a new chapter in a long history of innovations driven by Heineken and it will set the bar for how draught beer should taste. BrewLock provides a brewery fresh taste, the way the brewmaster intended it to be.” Read more…at Canoe Tech Blog.

The ultimate mobile device for $9,995

sparkWhat sparks into mind when you read the headline? Another diamond encrusted or gold iPhone designed for those with a significant amount of disposable income? Well, this “ultimate mobile device” does come with 4G LTE – and with four wheels. Not it’s not a smartphone, but rather the all-new 2016 GM Chevy Spark.

The new wheels rolled out last month under a shroud of secrecy. As a Gadget Guy, admittedly it piqued my curiosity as nothing was pre-announced except for a picture of a box and the invitation to see the “unboxing” of the ultimate mobile device.

“The ultimate mobile device plays on the fact it has tech features just like a cell phone, but it is still a car and gets you places,” says Jamie Dewhurst, Assistant Brand Manager for Chevrolet. Read more…at Canoe Tech Blog.
